Someone Hands You a Firearm. Now What?
Never rely solely on someone else's statement that a firearm is unloaded. Maintain a safe muzzle direction, keep your finger off the trigger, and verify the firearm's condition for yourself before proceeding.
Verify — Every Time
You checked it earlier. Check it again. If a firearm has been outside your sight or direct control — even briefly — verify its condition again before handling it.
