Did You Know?

You should practice clearing your cover garment.

The Short Answer

If you carry concealed, accessing your firearm requires more than simply knowing how to draw. Your clothing becomes part of the process.

Shirts, jackets, sweaters, and other garments can interfere with access if you have never practiced moving them out of the way.

What to Remember

Practice safely and deliberately so you become familiar with:

  • Clearing the garment completely.
  • Establishing a secure grip.
  • Avoiding fabric near the holster.
  • Reholstering carefully without clothing entering the trigger guard area.

G.L.O.W. Tip:

Your draw should be practiced with the type of clothing you actually wear — not only with perfect range-day conditions.

Safety note:

Dry-fire and draw practice should always be performed with a verified unloaded firearm in a safe environment and with all live ammunition removed from the practice area.
